BAG MAKERS, Inc. was founded in 1980 by Maribeth Sandford on the premise that companies didn't have to spend a lot.
In the late '70's, while working for a supply company, she recognized the need among her customers for smaller quantities, particularly
in plastic bags which often had high minimums and required too much storage space in customer's offices. With a small family loan,
Maribeth and a friend bought a press and taught themselves how to develop artwork and make printing plates. For years the company
operated in a converted dairy barn in Northern Illinois where the two friends sold by day and printed by night. Their focus was to
provide quality printing and fast service on lower minimums that would better meet the needs of their customers, filling a market
need not currently being served.
Over the years the company experienced tremendous growth, more than doubled its production, office, and warehouse space in 2006,
expanded its printing capabilities and product line, and grown to more than 250 associates. Exclusively serving the promotional products
marketplace, BAG MAKERS has become the leading imprinted bag suppliers in the industry, printing more than 55 million bags
each year through flexographic, hot stamping and screen printing services. More than a quarter century later, a host of industry
awards for outstanding service and quality has solidified BAG MAKERS position as a market leader.
